Age only matters if you are a cheese. And being healthy is what it is all about. That is exactly what the Department of Social Development in Mpumalanga has in mind with the hosting of the Golden Games from 6-8 September.
As many as 500 golden oldies will be targeted in the province to spend quality time with their peers. The event will officially start with a dinner attended by Mpu MEC Busi Shiba.
According to spokesperson for the department Ronny Masilela, the department is not only about providing the elderly with certain services, but should also take care of everyone’s health within the province. The older people are especially close to Masilela’s heart who says “especially old people need to be highly taken care of and should gather and leave stress at home.”
A full games programme is on the agenda which is to be held in Witbank.
