Rhino poacher kingpin due in court – finally after almost 4 years

On 22 May, the so-called rhino poaching kingpin Dumisani Gwala, Aubrey Dlamini and Wiseman Makeba will eventually appear in court after numerous delays, being postponed and being thrown out of court, allegedly by a magistrate who was said to have been receiving bribes. This however was never proved.

The three men will appear at the Ngwelezane Regional Court and the court will hear evidence on 10 cases of poaching and resistance to arrest according to the charge sheet.

In meantime, the heartless and savage attack on staff and rhinos at the Thula Thula Rhino Orphange which led to its closure has not rendered any good news after a year, in fact no news at all and no one has been arrested.
