RESIDENTS who have been living in the Lowveld all their lives are calling the latest weather patterns “unknown and strange.”

The regions of Mara, KaNyamazane, Malalane, Hazyview and  Skukuza in the Kruger National Park saw a whopper of a storm, which not only saw hail stones as big as golf balls hit the areas, but one person died in the rural area of Pienaar in Nkomazi.

Houses were damaged and cars suffered hail damage and according to William Mabasa, communications head of KNP, said guests had to be evacuated and roads are closed. NewsHorn is awaiting a full report from the Park.

Dex Sibiya, one of the paper’s staff members who lives in Nkomazi has to fit new windows throughout his entire house of which the ceiling has collapsed and is assisting family members in Langeloop who have also been left stranded in the rain and cold.
