A woman who allegedly attacked and killed a senior police officer in the holding cells at KwaMhlanga Police Station, Gugu Msiza (32) has been remanded in custody after she had appeared at KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court yesterday. She has applied for legal aid representation as well as bail. The charges against her now include murder.

The alleged attack occurred on Saturday, 2 September 2017, when Lt-Col Sibongile Vilakazi (48) called Msiza but there was no response. Vilakazi then entered the cell to investigate.
