Armed robbers hit the popular Mall  in Malalane in the early ours of this morning. According to SAPS spokesperson for Malalane, Bheki Nkosi, this is the third time the centre has been targeted. Last week, Clicks was broken into and the police is of the opinion that it is the same perpetrators who were involved in that robbery. A local school was also broken into just before this spate of robberies in Malalane.

The five men were captured on surveillance cameras during the robbery and targeted the CNA retail outlet and the ATM simultaneously. So far, it is not clear if they got away with any cash but cell phones were taken from CNA.

Bheki said that the men are heavily armed and if spotted in a silver AMG Mercedes, that the public should not attempt to stop them but call the local police immediately.

Although no arrests have been made as yet, the police investigation is underway and every lead is being followed up.

Updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
