POLICE have launched a manhunt for two suspects who stormed Exact, a clothing store at Inkwazi shopping centre in Malalane, on Wednesday afternoon. The armed suspects entered the shop during regular working hours, told everyone to keep quiet and remain calm. “They said they were not there to hurt anyone and all we needed to do was remain calm,” said a shopper who was in the store when this happen.
According to information at NewsHorn disposal, the suspects stole the cellular phones that were in the shop.
“Clothing stock was also taken from the shop,”
According to the spokesman for the Malalane Police station, Const Bheki Nkosi there were no injuries during the incident.
Edgars Active reportedly also experienced a similar incident, however it is unclear if the same suspects are responsible for the robbery.
“It is not possible to confirm that it was the same suspects however we cannot rule it out. We do suspect that it could be the same perpetrators because of the nature of the offense,” Nkosi explained.
A Nkosi added that a case of armed robbery has been opened.
“Investigations is still ongoing and no arrests have been made yet. We are pleading to anyone who saw anything or has may have any information that can help towards the arrest of the suspects to contact the Malalane Police Station on 013-790-2720 or their nearest police station,” Nkosi said.
