BRICS Summit to be held in Skukuza in KNP

THE 8th BRICS Ministers of Agriculture and Agrarian Development meeting will be held in the Kruger National Park from next week Tuesday until Friday. The event is being organised by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (DAFF) in partnership with the Mpumalanga Provincial Government and will l be led by the Heads of State of the five member countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

“This high-level meeting is a precursor to the BRICS Head of States Summit to be hosted by the country next month.  The seminar is aimed at promoting cooperation among BRICS countries on addressing climate change, focusing on climate-smart actions and approaches to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation), improving efficiencies, enhancing the resilience of agricultural and food production systems (adaptation) and ensuring food security,” the ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.
