CELEBRITIES who were born in Bushbuckridge will collaborate with the Creseldah Education Foundation (CEF) and the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality to assist this year’s grade 12 learners to obtain a 100% pass rate.
Learners, who will benefit from the initiative are those situated in the Bohlabela District, including areas in the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality and those situated in the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality.
Celebrities that will be working with the foundation include radio personality Penney Lebyane and musician General Muzka.
“The aim is to encourage the class of 2019 to increase their pace and achieve 100% pass rate. We understand the department of education is doing their best hence we come as extra pot leg to support. We strongly believe the success of our learners depends on the support of teachers, learners and parents,” said Creseladah Ndlovu, the founder of the foundation.
Ndlovu said the foundation would also crown ambassadors, who would be hosting the campaign together with the CEF volunteers and partners host’s campaigns to motivate learners.
“We offer a cash prize or award of R10 000, which comes with other exciting prizes to benefit the top learners in our region. We will hand over the prizes in early next January, immediately after the matric results announcement,” said Ndlovu.
The prize will include mentorship to the top leaner during his or her tertiary years.
The CEF mainly focuses on educational support and teenage pregnancy prevention and teen mothers support programmes. They are inviting other NPO/NPCs within Bushbuckridge that needs to join in this grade 12 campaign to contact them via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
