IEC deputy CEO Masego Shiburi says“National and provincial elections are going smoothly through out the country even though some polls had a shortage of ballots papers in some of the voting stations.

He further said the electoral commission remains highly satisfied and encouraged with voting progress throughout the country.
However there have been some setbacks including those caused by on-going community unrest.
Five voting stations are still not open by 17h00. While other four voting stations in Limpopo were forced to close due to safety reasons,but reopened again. He further denied that the ink on the thumb cannot be removed after voting and that there are people who voted twice. But if they can be identified they will be prosecuted
