The Golden Stars Awards are set to kick off with a bang and for the first time in the history of Mpumalanga it will be held in the Bushbuckridge region. Twelve new categories were also added which means there are now no less than 38 awards to be won.

A new corporate sponsor will soon be announced and the format of this newly-established awards event intends to ignite interest of quality entertainment among various local stars. The award’s executive chairman and Delias Media Group chief executive, Sipho Dzimba said they introduced the additional categories to ensure that the awards are highly-relevant to all entertainers in the region.

“We have over thirty categories that are open to artists to contest and this will make the Golden Stars Awards the biggest awards event in the region. It will create a compact and nail biting contest and at the awards the best in the region and the most promising from this region of Bushbuckridge will be able to make a name for themselves,” Dzimba said.

An exciting line-up of talented stars earmarked to take part in the awards mainly as performers will also be part of the programme. Soon, we will be making a big announcement,” said Dzimba. Nomination processes and prizes to be won will soon also be announced in the media. A hot line-up of live performances will also be publicised.

Too many to mention, the awards will however acknowledge excellence in television and film, music, media, the arts and entertainment industry and special awards such as the Lifetime Legendary Achievement  and Bushbuckridge’s Pioneering Legends Award.
