Hazyview father and son allegedly involved in rhino poaching

A father and son appeared in the Mkhuhlu Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of possession of unlicensed fire arms which may be related to rhino poaching. This after two hunting rifles were found at their home in Calcutta near Hazyview.

Members of the Provincial Tracking Team got information regarding this pair which may be involved in rhino poaching and raided the house. Upon searching the house, two rifles, a .458 and .375 were found hidden in their bedrooms.

The pair is in custody and will reappear at the same court on next week.
