Not even a day passed before criminals found their ugly way into Mpisane Primary School in Bushbuckridge Local Municipality after it was officially handed over by the MEC for Education, Mr Sibusiso Malaza who was in the company of the Speaker of the Provincial Legislature, Mrs Violet Siwela.
They broke some windows in two classrooms including the principal’s office wherein they forcefully opened the strong room and made their way with laptops and other teaching and learning material.
A case of burglary has been opened with Mhala Police Station and the Department urges the community to assist with information that can help the police to apprehend those that are behind this.
MEC Malaza was very disturbed upon receiving these news:
“This is a brutal act of robbing the community of its future. It must not be allowed to thrive in our space as such we request our communities to work with the law enforcement agencies to expose those that are behind this.
We must unite in action and act in unity to identify these criminals and put them where they belong – behind bars.” He lamented.
The Department will send officials from the Infrastructure Directorate to quantify the damage and to advise about steps that must be undertaken to fix the damage.
