Liesl’s alleged killer to stay in jail for now


The 37-year old suspect who is accused of killing Nelspruit house sitter Liesl Nel and dumping her body in a ditch on Uitkyk Road outside the city, will only be granted his day in court to apply for bail next month.

The man, the gardener at the property where Nel was looking after a home for a family while they were away, appeared in court yesterday but the case was postponed until middle of March when he will make a bail application. Investigations will continue.

According to an owner of a well-known house sitting service in White River and Nelspruit who wishes to stay anonymous, many of his house sitters have resigned after the killing.
