Three male lions in the Tzaneen Lion and Predator Park died an agonising death after
being poisoned before their heads were and paws were chopped off. According to SAPS, these parts are used in traditional medicine. The poachers gained entry to the park by cutting through three different fences.

Game lodge owner André de Lange said it was the second time poachers had struck in six months.

The poachers are now not only targeting elephant and rhino but lions are now also under threat.
