Moz – 70 000 driving licenses confiscated

The National Land Transport Institute (INATTER) has confiscated more than 70,000 driving licenses  for various irregularities as a result of inspections carried out over the last three years by police and INATTER. Most of the irregularities have to do with driving under the influence of alcohol, involvement in road accidents and violation of traffic rules.

Speaking at a meeting on road safety promoted by international road safety organisation AMEND in Maputo this Wednesday, INATTER Director of Services Manuel Antonio said that some of the drivers had been banned from driving for a period of two to three years.
