Mozambican national in court for peddling mortar bomb, jewellery

Victorino Ellias Dumb(29) a  Mozambican national, who was arrested after he was found in possession of a 31 inch British mortar bomb and jewellery valued at R 150 000 is expected to appear at the Nelspruit Magistrate Court next week.

Dumb was denied bail during his first court appearance on Monday.

He was arrested on Friday in Henshall Street, Nelspruit by the Hawks and Secunda Organised Crime Investigation Unit.

It is alleged that Dumb was nabbed after he tried to sell suspected stolen jewellery and the mortar bomb to an undercover cop who approached him as a potential buyer.

He is facing charges of possession of explosives and suspected stolen property.

It is not the first time Mozambican nationals got arrested for in possession of dangerous explosive in Nelspruit.  Meanwhile, last yerar, two Mozambican nationals, Isidro Antonio Cossa(35) and Xavier Rogerio Uurindja(32)  as well as a South African National Silver Ndlovu(69), were arrested for possession of two rockets explosives.

They were arrested in the Nelspruit CBD and the rockets which each worth R300 000 were confiscated.
