Owners of the storm-ravaged farms urged to come forward

AGRI Mpumalanga has called on Nkomazi  farmers, whose farms were damaged by the recent storm to interact with them if they need advice on a way forward. The hail storm damaged vast areas of sugarcane, banana, citrus and mango plantations situated in the Onderberg.

“Agri Mpumalanga sympathises with its members who were affected by the hail. They’re welcome to contact us if they need advice,” said Agri Mpumalanga vice-president Morees du Toit.

According to  authorities, the damages are estimated at  multi-millions of Rand.

The storm also destroyed a number of houses and killed a person in Pienaar outside Nelspruit. Bushbuckridge is also one of the areas that were badly affected by the storm.
