In what promises to be sad news for tourism in Mpumalanga, visitors are advised of the above gates closed as communities are blocking roads, throwing stones at vehicles and burning tyres in certain areas in protest against poor service delivery.
From the KNP Communications Department the following:
Guests of Kruger National Park (KNP) are informed that Paul Kruger and Phabeni Gates are also inaccessible due to service delivery protests taking place on the road (R40) from Hazyview towards Paul Kruger Gate today, 27 March 2018 and is blocked at the moment. Numbi Gate is still also inaccessible (due to protests on the R538) until further notice. Guests are advised to use alternative routes e.g. Malelane Gate to access or exit the Park until further notice.
Guests are advised to contact the Park for information before setting off.
