Water debt leads to rationing in Bushbuckridge

Unpaid water dept to Rand Water is forcing the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality to ration the low supply.

The water supply flow volume has been drastically reduced and the community has been asked to work sparingly with what is available. According to the communication manager at the municipality Aubrey Mnisi, in areas where water supply is completely interrupted, water tankers shall be provided for the purposes of water supply.

“The municipality would like to apologise for the inconvenience the situation has caused. For further details, please contact the local ward councilor  or visit your nearest municipal regional offices. In order to avoid water restrictions in the future, it is important that community members should pay for services like water that are provided by the municipality,” said Mnisi.
